At University of California, through a partnership with UC Immigrant Legal Services Center ("UC Imm" or "the Center"), we provide free immigration legal services to UC students and their immediate family members. Through a partnership between Undocumented Student Services and UC Imm, an attorney dedicated to immigration issues is available.
Attorney Amber Spring is able to meet with UCSB undocumented students and their immediate family members, as well as students who are U.S. citizens with undocumented family members to discuss matters such as:
- Immigration legal advice
- DACA renewals
- Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS)
- U-visas
- Temporary Protected Status (TPS)
- Know Your Rights Information
- Other immigration relief
Emergency Immigration Legal Services
UC Imm offers assistance for emergency cases where students or immediate family members are detained or at risk of deportation.
If your case is urgent, please contact UCSB Staff Attorney, Amber Spring, via (530) 574-6329 or amber.ucimm@law.ucdavis.edu for faster assistance.
DACA Renewal and Advance Parole Funds
Undocumented Student Services (“USS”) can support UCSB students with the cost of DACA renewal and/or Advance Parole USCIS filing fees. Students considering Advance Parole travel might be eligible for additional scholarships to minimize flight and lodging costs.
To be considered for this financial support,, students must:
- Be a currently enrolled UCSB undergraduate or graduate student who is undocumented with DACA, and
- Work with the UC Imm on their immigration case.
As a reminder, our campus immigration legal service provider, UC Imm, can serve UCSB students and their immediate family members (e.g., spouses, (step)sibling(s), (step)children, and (step)parents) on matters related to immigration law.
